Sun City Real Estate in Arizona
Sun City West is the sister city to Sun City. Snowbirds love these cities as they are 100% retirement communities. Sun City originally went live in 1960 on January 1st. This community launched with a shopping center, sports center, five different home models and of course a golf course.
What was amazing was on the opening weekend more than 10 times the amount of people came, drawing more than 100,000 people. It was even featured as a Time Magazine cover story.
This retirement community was constructed right where the ghost town of Marinette was located. Del E. Webb was the developer and slowly expanded the city over the years.
Mr. Webb’s company manufactured several other retirement communities in Arizona. In the 1970’s, Sun City West was constructed. During the late 1960’s, Sun City Grand was built, followed in 1999 by Sun City Anthem. Finally, in 2006, Sun City Festival was built.
If you are retiring and are looking for that perfect place to reside in, Sun City is where you want to be! It has all of the activities you can imagine for the retiree who desires an active lifestyle!
